“Down the Road”
Senior year is quickly coming to an end
Prom and graduation are right around the bend
Before I know it, I will be well on my way
To a new beginning, at a school far away
Going to school at Ole Miss will be both thrilling
and frightening
To be so far away and know no one is not really
heightening
My spirits of how well this new journey will go
But then I think of the opportunities and how I will
grow
My future is unknown with where this new adventure
will take me
But I’m sure where ever it is, there will grow a
tree
A tree whose roots that will become bigger and
stronger
With each connection that keeps me there longer
A new school, friends and additional family
Will mature and age this growing tree
One that will be made up of
A tree filled with life and rooted with love.
