"Online Course"

It is now the second marking period
There is now a new task for us all to do
All of the members of the Academies
Are to take a course of whatever they choose

I grew excited as I heard this news
I knew exactly what course
Criminal Justice was what came to mind
I just have to find a source

That was where the problem was
Finding the course was harder than I thought
I went through many websites
Nothing but stress is what this task now brought

The deadline for choosing now came close
At this point I was looking more and more
All of the courses I was finding
Didn't contain what I was looking for

This was until the night before it was due
I finally found the course I wanted!
But the site wouldn't let me subscribe to it
Now by this point I was feeling taunted

I then chose to wait until the next day
Straight to the guidance office I went
There they helped me figure out the problem
This much time spent was not my intent

"Induction Jitters"

"Induction Jitters"


National Honor Society is the highest honor of them all

And I have finally achieved it

There is an induction ceremony in front of family and friends

To which we will all vow to commit

 

Induction practice was to be after school

All of us had to go through each and every motion

What I did not know was that we each went up

To receive our certificate for our devotion

 

The thought of going up on stage

In front of everybodies family and friends

Made my stomach sink to the floor

And wish for that night to quickly come to an end

I grew nervous as the night approached

And as it finally came

I tried talking to friends beforehand

To keep the thought from my brain

 

I talked with them for a very long time

This worked well for me until Ms. Perna came in

As she stood there in the doorway she said

“It’s now time to go out! Get ready to begin.”
 

My heart started racing as we slowly walked in

My eyes started searching for my mother and father

We all sat down and I thought “This isn’t so bad”

I made myself so stressed, why did I even bother?

 

This is what I was thinking and how I felt

Until the part where we went up came

Mr. Sheninger was now getting closer

To the point where he would call my name

 

I finally decided to just take a deep breath

And walk up there to Mr. Perrone

This was an honor and nothing to be afraid of

These jitters I had were now bologna

 

I thanked him and made my way down the stairs

I went back to my seat and sat

Why was I so scared of being on stage?

I now know how to handle that

 

"Spirit Week Champions"

We are very different from one another
But this time of year is when we pull together
At last it is spirit week of our senior year
What we have been waiting for is finally here

It begins with students in pajamas
So far no arguements and no drama
Next up was the big fashion disaster
Up until this point we are the masters

The freshman then took us seniors by surprise
Since they won the hallway in the judges eyes
But we came back stronger with our western style
We knew this kept us on top for awhile

Dress up day was once again a success
The final day is what brought the most stress
We all wore green as we stood there and cheered
And all went silent because the floor cleared

The announcement was finally here
Did we win this for our senior year?
We heard the countdown of each grades place
When we heard ours we began to race

Down the bleachers we all ran to the floor
"Seniors! Seniors!" had become the uproar
We finally did it, we have now won!
Our epic senior year had just begun

"A Fall Knight"

It's dark as I stroll in the cafeteria
The cool air is slowly creeping inside
I take a look around and see shining leaves
In and out of crowds of people I slide

I find the table that my friends are sitting at
Warm greetings and many pictures follow
I see a line growing at the side of the room
We join and seeing its size we wallow

The DJ begins to play some music
We abandon our food to gather on the floor
The King and Queen go to enjoy their dance
Then we all join in and begin to dance some more

The cafeteria is no longer cold
We dance and sing to the last of the songs
The night was now sadly coming to an end
"A Fall Knight" is where everyone belongs
